New England Patriots: 5 observations from stampede of the Steelers

Could Brown turn things around in New England? You sacrifice every day with your brothers, you work hard, you stay after practice late, you stay after meetings late, you do all these things and sacrifice time away from family and you come out here and play a game for each other. Prior to last season, one of the knocks on Dorsett was the fact he was often targeted by Brady primarily on deep attempts downfield, which didn't see the two players have quite the success that they probably hoped for very often.

To take it a step further, the precision in which Brady has found him has been pretty impressive.

The Steelers were utterly humiliated by the Patriots on Sunday Night Football to open the season.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown #84 of the Oakland Raiders reacts on the sidelines during the first half of the National Football League preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on August 15, 2019 in Glendale, Arizona. He also completed passes to 7 different receivers.

The top three markets for last night's game were unsurprisingly Pittsburgh (42.3/60), Providence (37.4/57) and Boston (36.3/58), the former of which will likely have been tuning out early as the Steelers went into the fourth quarter down 30 points to 3. Dorsett had four catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns - including a 58-yard TD reception against the Steelers. Looking back, it would have been better if Pittsburgh had just made the trade with the Patriots. And finally, it is possible for a player to play in a Thursday night game, get released by his team on Friday, sign with another team on Saturday, and then play for his new team on Sunday.

Jason McCourty rebounded nicely after giving up a big play. "New England samples all sorts of personalities and relationships".

It was a frustrating play as McCourty wasn't able to close on Washington and it appeared as though it could have been a costly miscue.

With Antonio Brown waiting in the wings, the Patriots offense looked solid with the playmakers they did have on the field. That also included three tight ends and only one receiving running back.

The Steelers are known for starting the season off slow. The Patriots have outscored Pittsburgh 152-72 in their past four games at Gillette Stadium.

On a positive note, Patriots left tackle Isaiah Wynn was almost flawless, allowing one quarterback hit on 40 pass-blocking snaps. Still, the news of his aquision was on players' minds.

The Patriots will now spend the week getting ready to travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins next Sunday afternoon.
