NFL Slams the Door on Antonio Brown's Helmet Saga

NFL Slams the Door on Antonio Brown's Helmet Saga

"They don't certify equipment that's old than 10 years".

Brown, who was traded to Oakland in the offseason, reportedly had a two-hour conference call with an independent arbitrator on Friday.

Late last week, Brown made it clear that he has no intention of playing unless he gets to wear his trusty 10-year-old helmet, which has since outlawed by the league and NFLPA to increase player safety.

We'll soon find out if Raiders receiver Antonio Brown will follow through on his threat to quit if the National Football League didn't allow him to wear his old helmet.

But even if Brown is able to procure a helmet manufactured after 2010, it will only be a stopgap solution to his helmet problem and he'll be right back where he is now whenever we hit 10 years past the manufacture date of his newly acquired helmet.

Brown suggested in a social media post that he intends to rejoin the Raiders. "I'm excited about this season [and] appreciate all the concerns about my feet".

The NFL has a policy of not allowing players to wear helmets that are not certified by NOCSAE, according to ESPN. Over the extended time he's missed, Brown has seen a foot specialist and his feet are now considered to be a nonissue moving forward. Yada yada yada, and Brown can wear his helmet if he can find one that qualifies.

Brown was expected to return to Raiders training camp on Tuesday after a lengthy absence.

"I support this guy".

Following these reports, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden publicly expressed his support for Brown regarding the helmet issue. I think that's what needs to be said. "As much as I loved that helmet, I knew some things were out of my control and that was one of them".

"Hopefully we're going to get this behind us soon", Rosenhaus said.
