Chris Cuomo breaks silence after 'Fredo' meltdown

Loyal fans of Chris Cuomo will be happy to know that his fiery on-air TV persona is not an act.

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo's legendary meltdown over being addressed as "Fredo" has talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh claiming the "blame", or in this case, credit, for triggering the cable network personality.

The clip was posted online by a YouTube channel called "THAT'S THE POINT with Brandon".

Soon the man who called him "Fredo" took off his glasses and challenged Cuomo to put his money where his mouth is - and Cuomo said, "I'll f***in' ruin your s**t" and "I'll f***in' throw you down these stairs like a f***in' punk".

Fredo Corleone (John Cazale), the idiot brother to Michael (Al Pacino) in The Godfather, has a bad rap because he sold out his brother not realizing what he was doing-hence, the idiot brother. "You Italian?" he challenged. It's a f***ing insult to the people. If calling an Italian guy a "Fredo" is akin to calling a black dude an n-word, wouldn't everybody know that?

The other side of this wild coin is that people are mad because Donald Trump Jr. has been called "Fredo", but ... yeah, it checks out. "He's out with his 9 year old daughter, and his wife, and this guy is being a jack-ss in front of his family". If there's something you want to say about what I do on television, then say it. "Low ratings @CNN", Trump tweeted.

"I say good for @ChrisCuomo", Hannity tweeted. "He deserves the apology", he added.

"No. Punk ass bitches on the right call me Fredo".

Others who identified as Italian noted that if Cuomo wanted to compare an ethnic slur for Italians to the n-word, there were plenty of worse terms than "Fredo" - although even then, some critics still found placing derogatory words for Italians on the same plane as the n-word to be inappropriate.

After Donald Trump Jr., the president's son, wondered if CNN would respond, the company's chief spokesman said: "Chris Cuomo defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur in an orchestrated setup". He looked like a total, out-of-control animal. CNN says it completely supports Cuomo after he was seen on video threatening to push a man down some stairs during a confrontation after the man apparently called him "Fredo", in a seeming reference to the "Godfather" movies. He shouldn't be allowed to have any weapon.

After the incident, CNN issued a statement supporting Cuomo, who is now on vacation.

But Nolte explained at Breitbart that Cuomo himself admitted that while he owns guns, he's concerned the "wrong people" don't get them.
