PSG not out for revenge against Rennes - Silva

Substitute Angel Di Maria scored the victor with a spectacular free-kick and Kylian Mbappe was also on target for the Ligue 1 champions.

Paris Saint-Germain substitute Angel Di Maria scored the victor with a spectacular free kick and Kylian Mbappe was also on target as the Ligue 1 champions recovered to beat Stade Rennes 2-1 and lift the French Super Cup in Shenzhen on Saturday.

Kylian Mbappe is urging PSG teammate Neymar to stay.

The Brazilian has been surrounded by controversy this summer, with his PSG future very much in doubt amid reports of a potential return to Barcelona.

The Ligue 1 champions did not get off to the greatest start, with Rennes taking the lead after 13 minutes through Adrien Hunou.

Once the celebrations began, Marco Verratti was pictured dragging Neymar into the festivities as the trophy was lifted.

When the time came for a photo of the successful team with the trophy Mbappe appeared to push Neymar out, though the Frenchman did look at his team-mate with a wry smile at the end.

Former Monaco ace Mbappe, who was recently named the heir to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, wants Neymar to snub a return to Barcelona and remain in the French capital.

The Parisians did not want to sell Neymar this summer but have been forced to consider letting him go after his actions.

Malcom could leave the club amid reports that Zenit St. Petersburg are interested in signing the forward, but that would earn the Blaugrana just 40 million euros which probably would be Neymar's demand for an annual salary. I have already spoken with him.

"I think he still has a lot to give PSG, until the last day he is here as a player".

For their part, PSG seemed to finally have had enough of their most expensive signing in club history. "He knows that I respect him and that I admire him".
