Manchester City Sets Massive Price For Leroy Sane Transfer

Bayern has made no secret of their desire to sign the Germany worldwide, with boss Niko Kovac talking up the possibility of a deal going through earlier this week before later apologising for his comments.

"No player has told me he wants to leave".

"We're all well advised to not talk about players still under contract", said sports director Hasan Salihamidzic while chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also criticised Kovac's bold statement.

It said the reports about Sane deciding to move to Germany did not correspond to the facts.

City has reportedly set a price of £137 million for Sane after Bayern Munich inquired about his availability.

'Of course it bothers me because it is not true, ' Guardiola said.

And while Bayern added French world champions Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, City winger Sane is the marquee player they crave.

"What Txiki sent me two or three weeks ago, it was quite close. I know the rumours exist", Guardiola told reporters ahead of Sunday's Community Shield match against Liverpool FC. "It depends on his further progress to play in the first team ... but I'm very happy with him and I'm surprised, I'm positively surprised and I'm happy about his development".

"Nobody has told me that so, for now, he's our player, my player".

City boss Pep Guardiola still hopes that Sane stays at City for another season.

The Germany worldwide has picked up six major trophies with City, including two league titles, but he found regular playing time hard to come by towards the back end of last season. "But I'm confident and assume that we can get him".

Liverpool ran City close in a tense Premier League title race last season, narrowly finishing one point behind the champions on the final day, but Klopp did later lead his side to their sixth European Cup. "But we are ready to accept the challenge".
