World football governing body - FIFA has officially announced the nominees for their prestigious "The Best Men's Player Nominees".

In addition to Hazard, the other candidates are: Cristiano Ronaldo, De Jong, De Ligt, Kane, Mané, Mbappé, Messi, Salah and Van Dijk.

The Reds duo enjoyed an incredible 2018/19 season winning the UEFA Champions League and finishing as joint top scorers of the Premier League with Arsenal superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Messi guided Barcelona to the La Liga title in his first season as captain at Camp Nou, but also fell short in the Champions League, as the Catalan side fell to a 4-3 aggregate defeat to Liverpool in the semifinals.

Luka Modric, who won the award past year after leading Croatia to the World Cup final, was not on the list.

The list was published today by Federation Internationale de Football Association, and the victor will be announced in a Gala on September 23rd in Milan, Italy.

A Real Madrid player has been triumphant in every edition of FIFA's The Best Men's award since its creation in 2016.

Phil Neville, who coached England to a fourth-place finish at the World Cup, is also nominated along with fellow Englishman Paul Riley, manager of National Women's Soccer League side North Carolina Courage in the US.

Fans have the opportunity to vote for their favourite three players, with the top pick receiving five points, the second choice three points and the third choice one point.
