Marvel's What If...? animated series coming to Disney+

With San Diego Comic-Con in full swing - and dropping trailers to everything from Cats and IT: Chapter Two to The Witcher and Snowpiercer quicker than fans can probably watch them - Marvel has finally unveiled just what it'll be thrusting in front of audience's eyeballs for the next few years.

To add to the list of "matches made in heaven", we now have the incomparable Mahershala Ali taking the baton to play Blade in the much anticipated reboot of the supernatural movie franchise.

Hot off the Phase 4 MCU news at San Diego Comic Con 2019, IGN's Terri Schwartz talked to Kevin Feige about one of the biggest teases of the Marvel Studios panel: the mention of the X-Men.

If that's not enough caped crusader antics, a heap of Marvel's previously announced Disney+ series now have release windows. Other cast members include O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's Tale) as Mason, Golden Globe nominee David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy) as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, Florence Pugh (Fighting with My Family) as Yelena, and Oscar victor Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) as Melina. First up will be Scarlett Johansson headlining a Black Widow prequel film that will kick off the summer on May 1, 2020.

Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. The movie will also feature Tony Leung and Awkwafina. That's right, Jane Foster will become the female Thor, just like the comics!

It will be followed in February 2021 by "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", the first Marvel superhero film to be led by an Asian actor. Shang-Chi leading man Simu Liu was only cast on Tuesday.

Benedict Cumberbatch will return for the sequel Doctor Strange In the Multiverse Of Madness, which will also star Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch. It's also where the studio introduced Brie Larson as Captain Marvel three years ago and brought the house down with the first look at Black Panther. After rumors spreading over the months, Angelina confirms the upcoming movie "Eternal" at Hall H on Saturday. It's slated for a November 6, 2020 release. Chloé Zhao will be directing a cast that includes Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh and Angelina Jolie as Thena. I simply wanted to say hello to some old friends.

"One of the most exciting things about what's coming up next is being able to continue to subvert expectations for what a Marvel Studios movie can be".

It's not a true confirmation of another Avengers crossover, but it's something to dream about.
