This Report Debunks Theory About Kevin Durant’s Free Agency Decision

Kawhi Leonard took nearly a week to make his shocking decision to join LA's other team, the Los Angeles Clippers.

Neither George nor the famously soft-spoken Leonard have commented on the ban, although the two should be fine: Los Angeles had the most coffee shops in the country as recently as 2005, according to a study by the market research company, the NPD Group. Leonard may have been considering signing a short-term deal to return to Toronto at the time, and you never know what can happen in another year or two.

While the Leonard signing certainly stings, it may wind up being a blessing in disguise as being able to bring back a number of quality role players to help fill around the duo of Davis and James could very well still be more than enough to help lead the Lakers to another title. The Raptors, who won their first-ever National Basketball Association championship thanks to Leonard's play, are no longer in line to repeat.

The Lakers would go on to sign Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins - both on minimum deals helping keep the cap flexibility intact. At first, some thought they would be going to the New York Knicks, although it was clear that the Nets were the more viable option.

In the meantime, the spotlight will be firmly aimed at Hollywood when the NBA's 2019-2020 season tips off on October 22.

While the Clippers didn't make their splash until free agency was almost a week old, the Nets wasted no time, agreeing to sign Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on June 30.
