Leeds sign Wolves winger Costa on loan

As confirmed by the BBC, Leeds are on the verge of signing Helder Costa from Wolves.

Clarke is Spurs' first signing since Brazil forward Lucas Moura joined from Paris St-Germain in January 2018.

Tottenham signed midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record 60 million euros ($68 million) as the English club ended 18 months of transfer inactivity on Tuesday.

Assuming there are no last minute complications, Ndombele is set to seal his move to the new White Hart Lane and his signing will be a huge statement of intent from Tottenham as the French global has become one of the hottest properties in Europe.

The Helder Costa signing follows Leeds securing Academy prospect Jack Clarke on-loan for the season immediately after selling the talented winger to Spurs.

Costa scored 10 goals in 35 Championship appearances in his first season at Molineux, following a £13.4million (€15m) transfer from Benfica.

Champions League runners-up Spurs, who didn't spend a penny last season, previously set their transfer record with the signing of Colombia global defender Davinson Sanchez for £36m in 2017.

"It's nearly the same squad as last season here, the quality is there and hopefully we can push even further and get promoted this year".

The youngster, though, will stay at Leeds for the 2019-20 campaign, after a loan deal was agreed between the two clubs.

Former New York City star Harrison made 42 appearances in all competitions last term as Leeds missed out on promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
