China wants to make it a much more hard choice to cut off supplies to Huawei, he added. -China tensions over trade and technology in which Huawei has been a main target.

Huawei is now fighting to maintain access to major markets for next-generation communications as the USA claims the company threatens global cyber-security.

The Chinese tech giant has since received several punches from U.S firms, and while many had expected its stockpiled inventory to sustain its smartphone and 5G networking equipment businesses for most of the rest of the year, a new report from industry source says the sanction is already having a great effect on the Chinese giant.

China then raised tariffs on US$60 billion of American goods, effective June 1.

Gao Feng, a spokesman of China's commerce ministry, stated that "Foreign enterprises, organizations or individuals that do not comply with market rules, deviate from a contract's spirit or impose blockades or stop supplies to Chinese enterprises for non-commercial purposes, and seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, will be included on a list of "unreliable entities",".

"It is quite clear now that this is no longer a trade dispute and will extend much more broadly to punitive economic measures that each side can inflict upon each other", said Christopher Balding, a China expert at the Fulbright University Vietnam, adding it was reasonable to expect further escalation by each side.

On Saturday, Chinese retaliatory tariffs on the US goods kicked in, after the Trump administration raised tariffs on Chinese goods worth $200 billion to 25 percent, from 10 percent.

While Trump insists China will pay billions in duties, experts note that USA consumers and importers bear the brunt of tariffs on products coming into the United States.

Bejing authorities have moved to file a case to probe FedEx over allegedly violating Chinese clients rights, the state-run news agency Xinhua reported Saturday.
