Mallory Edens Seemed To Enjoy Game 2 Of The NBA Finals

A victory in Sunday's second game of the NBA Finals would lift Toronto halfway to the title, but that isn't over-exciting the Raptors or worrying defending champion Golden State.

Toronto has now won five straight games dating back to the Eastern Conference Finals.

- The Warriors won a road game for the 23rd straight playoff series, extending their National Basketball Association record.

"I've been here since 10 in the morning and you know, waiting for this game, to get inside Jurassic Park, and to see this result, is awful", one fan told CTV News Toronto after the game. Durant, the finals MVP in 2017 and 2018 who has been dealing with a strained calf, was ruled out by Warriors coach Steve Kerr in an expected move.

The Raptors actually outscored the Warriors in the fourth quarter.

- Golden State's 20-0 run - 2-0 to end the second quarter and 18-0 to start the third is the longest run in an NBA Finals game since the NBA-ABA merger (1976-77).

Kerr said the Raptors reminded him of the Warriors, with Pascal Siakam pushing the ball in transition the way Draymond Green does.

According to data compiled by Oddshark, the Raptors are 1.5 point favorites, while the over/under bar is set at 215. You know the Warriors are going to come out firing after suffering a rare loss, but the Raptors have shown that they belong and I think they can escape with another narrow home win behind a big game from Leonard. However, seeing how much pressure coach Nurse was under, a shoulder rub was due.

Venearla Storrd went to Jurassic West to watch Thursday's game and made sure to come early on Sunday in order to save a spot for herself and her sister.

Kerr, who's never been shy with political statements, wore a T-shirt that said "Vote For Our Lives" to the pre-game press availability, in response to the recent mass shooting in Virginia Beach. "It's even more glaring when you can see the flow from offense to defense or the missed rotations or sloppy turnovers". The Raptors were able to eliminate the Milwaukee Bucks in six games in that series and have a ton of momentum heading into this game.

"Toronto is having the whole country behind it and some of America too", Thai added, "because they don't want to see Golden State win anymore."

Notes: The Los Angeles Clippers were fined $50,000 by the National Basketball Association for comments coach Doc Rivers made about Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard during a TV appearance.

Klay Thompson scored 11 of Golden State's first 13 points, but picked up his second foul with 4:27 left in the opening quarter.

DeMarcus Cousins is in the starting lineup at center after coming off the bench in his return from a torn left quadriceps in Game 1.

A manager for a Boston Pizza located near the Scotiabank Arena said the restaurant was packed with more than 500 customers on Thursday, and has been bombarded with calls for reservations for Game 2.

The Raptors were 16-2 this season when Anunoby scored at least nine points.

"It wasn't really a scuffle because I didn't hit him and he didn't hit me, and I didn't push him and he didn't push me", Green said. "We knew we would be down a bit by virtue of both not having two USA markets and we've come off eight years of having LeBron James in the finals".
