Disney+ Streaming Service Details Finally Revealed

Disney+ Streaming Service Details Finally Revealed

Currently, the PlayStation 4 is the only system Disney has actually confirmed will be receiving the service.

Disney says its new streaming service, Disney Plus, will cost $6.99 per month when it launches in the US on November 12.

Netflix's most popular plan, which lets you stream to two different devices simultaneously in high definition, just got a hike to $13 a month in the USA earlier this year.

Like Netflix, Disney Plus will be free of ads.

Executives said they see opportunities to take its ESPN+ sport streaming video service to Latin America and are looking into worldwide expansion of its Hulu streaming video business, which offers movies and shows targeted to adults.

After it's release, "Avengers: Endgame" will also be made available on the service, as well as Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok, and Ant Man and The Wasp.

The shows the service will offer when it launches include a live action Star Wars series and a series about Marvel character Loki. Company CEO Bob Iger shared a screenshot of the Disney+ UI on his Twitter site, and it features rows of rectangular icons.

Created to super-serve the most ardent fans, Disney+ will provide subscribers with a feature-rich product experience that makes it easy to navigate, discover, and watch their favorite programming with immersive brand tiles and dedicated pages for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. "There truly is no bigger priority for the Walt Disney Company going forward".

Disney+ is made to be an global product that will also roll out in North America, Western Europe and parts of Asia in early 2020 and in additional territories through 2021.

"The interesting thing is both companies have ended up in the same place, but they've come to it from vastly different backgrounds", he said.

Disney Plus plans to hit the ground running higher, further, and faster, launching the streaming service with Marvel's "Captain Marvel" on day one.

Disney+ keeps getting bigger and it hasn't even debuted yet.

There's also the issue of whether Disney and other studios will divert projects that would have played on and benefited other studio-owned assets - such as networks like ABC, Disney Channel and Freeform - to feed the streaming operation. There's also the matter of how to integrate Disney+ with its other streaming platforms, including ESPN+ and the studio's controlling stake in Hulu.

Looks like streaming services are the way of the future. It costs $7/month or $70 a year. Of course, Disney had its own talent on hand, including Favreau, who discussed The Mandalorian and introduced a clip for the new Lion King, which he directed. "This gives you the sense of how he plan to explore the MCU and fresh and exciting ways in the series.in addition new and returning cast members will be lending their voice to their animated counterparts". That's a whopping amount of content, and the library is only expected to grow year over year.

The plunge into video streaming is likely to confront Disney with new challenges.

Disney+ will allow downloading, meaning all content from the service will be accessible offline. Netflix films such as the award-winning "Roma" and "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" have either become available for streaming on the same day or just a few days after their short runs in theatres.

Now, Netflix is locking horns with a company that has been steadily expanding upon its Disney franchise during a shopping spree that has seen it snap up other major studios.
