PSG player inexplicably robs his own teammate of a goal

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting of European giants Paris Saint-Germain has successfully pulled off one of the most outrageous, seemingly impossible misses in the history of professional football overnight, during a match against French Ligue One rivals Strasbourg.

But they didn't need the 27-goal striker to open the scoring, with summer signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opening the scoring just after the 10-minute mark after a inch-perfect cross from Colin Dagba.

The shopping list should include an upgrade on Choupo-Moting, who will surely forever be remembered at PSG - and perhaps for his entire career - for his error.

Asked about his miss post-match, Choupo-Moting said: "Even for me it's hard to explain".

Strasbourg eventually picked up a draw against the reigning Ligue 1 champions, stopping them from winning another title for the time being.

The 18-year-old scored his first Premier League goal for Southampton against Huddersfield back in December.

"I thought Nkunku was going to give it to me - and than I thought the defender was going to get it", the ex-Premier League star said after the game.

PSG had been given the chance to clinch the title after second-placed Lille were held to a 1-1 draw at Reims in an earlier kick-off.

"I wondered if I was offside and it all happened very fast". I had a bad reflex.

With the ball trickling over the line, the Cameroon global stuck out a left boot to ensure PSG took the lead.

Nuno da Costa equalised for Strasbourg in the 26th minute before Thierry Laurey's side went into half-time with the lead thanks to Anthony Gonçalves.

PSG and Strasbourg would draw, 2-2.
