UAE man sacked, deported for celebrating NZ attack

"Over the weekend, a Transguard employee made inflammatory comments on his personal Facebook account celebrating the deplorable mosque attack in Christchurch, New Zealand", the Transguard security group said in a statement.

They included a four-year-old girl who had to be transferred to a specialist children's hospital in Auckland. Their status was confirmed by refugee group Syrian Solidarity New Zealand, which added that Mustafa's other son, 13-year-old Zaed, was "in a stable condition after a six-hour operation".

Khalid, 44, and Hamza, 15, were shot dead at the Al Noor Mosque, the first attack site.

A younger brother, Zaid, was wounded in the attack. The boy tried to stand during the ceremony but had to sit back into his wheelchair, one mourner said.

"I have no doubt you saved lives", she told them. "You will never hear me mention his name".

Among those in attendance was Abdul Aziz, an Afghan refugee who bravely confronted the gunman at Linwood Mosque. He was embraced by many mourners.

"I don't want to be here alone", Zaid said, according to one attendee at the funeral.

In a sign of lingering tensions, the PA system at the funeral announced evacuation procedures from the venue in the event of an emergency, mourners said.

Muslims whose loved ones were gunned down have had their grief compounded by the failure of authorities to return bodies to families in time for a speedy burial, as required under Islamic custom.

New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said police have now formally identified and released the bodies of 21 people to family members.

Bush said the police response times throughout the attack were "fantastic".

Mr Erdogan, while campaigning for local elections, presented the Christchurch attack on Friday as part of an assault on Turkey and Islam.

"I find the comments obviously offensive, deeply offensive, but also I think very unhelpful", Mr Morrison told Sydney radio 2GB on Wednesday.

"Let New Zealand be a place where there is no tolerance of racism, ever".

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern Wednesday visited the school, which lost another student and a former student in the shootings.

Another Cashmere student, 14-year-old Sayyad Milne, also died in the attack.

Asked by a student how she felt, Ardern replied simply: "I am sad".

A day earlier Ardern vowed gunman Brenton Tarrant would face the "full force of the law" as she opened a sombre session of parliament with an evocative "as-salaam alaikum" message of peace to Muslims.

Some people expressed support for the victims in a uniquely New Zealand way.

"He is a terrorist".

"I can not tell you gutting it is to know a family came here for safety and refuge, and they should have been safe here", Ardern said.

Somehow, in the face of absolute terror, Jacinda Ardern has united New Zealand - and the rest of the world - to share in her strength. Gun owners have started to answer government appeals to hand in their weapons.

In the United States, a congressional panel said it was asking top executives from USA tech firms to explain the proliferation online of the "horrific" video.

But his tweet drew a barrage of derogatory messages to his Facebook account - most apparently from the U.S., where the pro-gun lobby is powerful.
