'Toy Story 4' trailer explores the true objective of a toy

It appears as though the introduction of new and forgotten characters is the go-to for Toy Story 4 with Forky being added to the film in the latest trailer.

After the emotional gauntlet of Toy Story 3's passing the light-up plastic torch story, you may not feel ready for the Toy Story 4 trailer. The trailer was shared 30,000 times within two hours of its release, and #ToyStory4 was among the top stories trending Tuesday morning on Twitter. But then Woody finds his old friend Little Bo Peep (Annie Potts) at a carnival, which makes him reconsider his life as a toy.

Whether or not we need a third sequel in the "Toy Story" franchise becomes irrelevant the moments the credits start rolling and we're nearly immediately melted into a puddle of tears. Woody gives the toys a new mission: keep Forky safe at all costs. Back in 1999, Stinky Pete thought that toys needed to be preserved as they got older, not played with by small children.

After getting a series of teasers, the first full trailer for Toy Story 4 has finally arrived, giving us our best look-yet at the movie's plot. Hopefully things will change in the actual movie and the franchise will put a spin on its classic villain tropes, but that remains to me seen. Once again, the Toy Story family including Woody, Buzz, Mr Potato Head and more come together for an epic adventure. Let us know in the comments!

"The world of "Toy Story" is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a objective", director Josh Cooley told Entertainment Weeklyin November.
