Activision unveils Call of Duty Mobile

Simply dubbed "Call of Duty Mobile", the new effort by Activision and Tencent Games appears to be the same as Call of Duty: Legends of War, a game that entered the alpha stage at the end of 2018. Call of Duty Mobile also includes multiplayer modes such as Free4All, Search & Destroy, Team Deathmatch and Frontline.

"We are delivering the definitive, first person action experience in a new mobile title with incredible graphics and visceral Call of Duty gameplay", said Chris Plummer, VP, Mobile at Activision. The appropriately titled Call of Duty: Mobile draws familiar faces, guns, and modes from past games including Modern Warfare and Black Ops. "With our expertise creating games custom-built for mobile players, we're excited to deliver a new, feature-packed Call of Duty experience that all types of fans will enjoy". The game will make its way to iOS and Android devices in North and South America, Europe, and other regions later this year. In addition, Activision also teased that Zombies and a battle royale mode (though not explicitly Blackout) will be coming to the game in the near future. Players will recognize numerous mobile game's weapons, as well, including models from the Modern Warfare and Black Ops games.

"Call of Duty is synonymous with incredible quality and gameplay, and our team couldn't be happier working together with Activision to bring it to life on mobile", said Steven Ma, SVP, Tencent Holdings Limited.

As with the console versions of COD, Call of Duty: Mobile will support character, weapon, and outfit unlocking, scorestreaks, and gear.

This is not Activision's first mobile title for Call of Duty. Android users can also pre-register on the Play Store. Considering that Tencent has a part to play in it, the likelihood of it is low as it will directly compete with their flagship title: PUBG Mobile.

Call of Duty has been one of the biggest and best first-person shooters for years now.
