The Season of the Drifter in Destiny 2 is almost upon us, and Bungie has finally revealed the latest season's start date. New weapons will also be coming to the mode.

From Reckoning, you will get armor for Gambit Prime.

We know that The Reckoning rewards the aforementioned role-defining Gambit Prime armor, but it's unclear what else it will dish out. The first tier of The Reckoning will be available at the start of the season on March 5, along with Gambit Prime's first new map, a Mars location called New Arcadia. There's also a tonne of lore about The Drifter and the Nine to be found by taking part in The Reckoning. Players are encouraged to complete the mode to earn armour that can be used in Gambit Prime. On 8 March 2019, we will get the second level of difficulty for The Reckoning.

From March 15, you'll have a new questline called Invitations of the Nine. From there, all that players need to do to access the latest season's content visit Xur.

A third quest is available from Xur from 19 March; for nine weeks following, players will engage in a story-based quest that delves into the origins of Xur's masters, the Nine.

The Allegiance quest, previously forecast as the Joker's Wild weekly quest, will invite you to choose between the Vanguard and the Drifter. Thanks to Bungie's unveiling, we know quite a bit about the new pinnacle weapons and how they'll function. This is one of two new quests that players can complete, the other being the quest to unlock Thorn. There will also be three new weapons to unlock in Gambit Prime, namely the "Spare Rations" Hand Cannon, the "Soul Survivor" Sniper Rifle, and the "Doomsday" Grenade Launcher. The more headshots you do, the more damage you'll cause. The Arc-powered Rapid-Fire Machine Gun comes equipped with a unique "Killing Tally" perk. It also has a version of the Rampage perk where its damage increases until you store or reload the weapon.

As a new season of Destiny begins, developers from Bungie are back on the record about how our shared adventure is about to evolve again. Once completed, players will then receive a bounty known as "Into the Unknown" that can be completed once per character.
