Mourinho Created Unhealthy Atmosphere - Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez has said he lost confidence under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United because of the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager's methods.

The 30-year-old has been heavily criticised for his performances for United, with suggestions that he no longer has the hunger to succeed at the highest level.

The Chile worldwide is a shadow of the player he was at Arsenal, having scored just five goals in 37 appearances since moving to United in January 2018.

Chile worldwide Sanchez was widely regarded as one of the best attacking players in Europe during his spells with Barcelona and Arsenal.

Sanchez has admitted to fears over his United form, saying: "I would like to have brought more joy to the club".

'You can see they're a team who, at the moment, are enjoying what they're doing, ' continued Zola.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer puts his unbeaten domestic record to the test tonight when he takes Manchester United to Stamford Bridge for an FA Cup fifth round clash against Chelsea. "Yes, it worries me because I believe in my abilities as a player, I want to show it".

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Saturday, Merson said: "I hope we see the old Sanchez, but I don't see the confidence or the hunger in his eyes anymore".

"He [Solskjaer] hasn't spoken to me a great deal about what I have to do on the pitch, but I think I'm an experienced player and I think I know what I need to do and what I shouldn't do".

"I think he is a very good player". That's what it's about when you go through periods when you don't perform up to your standard because we know there is a very good player there.

Injuries to Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard could hand Sanchez a prolonged stint in the side but Nicholas believes he gives up possession too often to become a regular under Solskjaer.

"The referee's assistant, when we had a counter-attack, came flying down the line, and I had my foot there and he crashed into me".

Yet still, Sanchez says he looked at his teammates after Presnel Kimpembe opened the scoring and noticed a lack of belief that they could get back in the game.
