This wasn't an Anthony Davis trade, but it still was a big deal that could change the balance of power in the Eastern Conference.
Per late-breaking reports on Tuesday night, the Clippers will send forward Tobias Harris to Philadelphia in a multiplayer deal that will also include picks. The picks are the big part for the Clippers: they're receiving a 2020 first-rounder, Miami's unprotected 2021 first-round pick, and two second-round picks (2021 and 2023 per Woj).
The deal hasn't been announced by either side just yet but Harris essentially "confirmed" the reporting in an amusing way. Along with Butler, Harris will be a free agent this summer, and the Sixers plan to be aggressive in re-signing him to an extension, league sources said. This will give the Sixers some all-star caliber players for the stretch run.
The Sixers had offered two second-rounders to the New Orleans Pelicans for forward Nikola Mirotic earlier this week.
Moments after the trade went through, Harris took to Twitter and posted a gif of Will Smith on a basketball court from the opening credits of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". Harris, 26, leads the Clippers in scoring at 20.9 points per game and rebounding at 7.9 boards per game.
"Harris could be moving toward a maximum-level contract in free agency this summer, something that would've been hard for Clippers to do with their own free agency aspirations", Wojnarowski wrote.
