Fans disappointed by Maroon 5 and Travis Scott's Super Bowl halftime show

After the Super Bowl's real-life performance, which utilized a similar idea to introduce Travis Scott's portion of the show (where he actually performed "Sicko Mode"), some Twitter users, like @DragonflyJonez, pointed out the similarities and wondered: "Did the person who made that Spongebob/Sicko Mode mashup get paid?" Just as quickly as he appeared however, Big Boi exited stage left. Scott performed his No. 1 hit, "Sickomode", and Levine awkwardly danced beside him, which looked nearly as bad as Katy Perry dancing next to Missy Elliott at Super Bowl 49.

Twitter wasted no time in accusing Super Bowl and its viewers of hypocrisy for allowing Levine to disrobe during his performance while Jackson suffered the brunt of negative media attention and criticism after her Super Bowl set 15 years ago.

His halftime show at Sunday's Super Bowl LIII failed to hit the mark.

After their performance, frontman Adam took to Instagram to share photos from their Chinese lantern display, which formed the words "one" and "love", and thanked their fans and critics.

Maroon 5 took the stage during the halfway point of football's biggest game of the season. Ahead of the show, Adam had hinted at the possibility of acknowledging Kaepernick's plight during their set, but there was no visible tribute onstage.

The Bodak Yellow rapper told The Associated Press, "I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform. but there's a man who sacrificed his job for us, so we got to stand behind him". Nobody loves them. Not even the middle-aged women who apparently make up their fan base and find singer Adam Levine's messily tatted body and awkward but still totally douchey dance moves "hot".

Spongebob's appearance comes as after fans appealed for his appearance after the loss of show creator Stephen Hillenburg previous year.

As of this writing, over 1.2 million have signed the petition, making it one of the most popular petitions to grace the website.

However, regardless of Levine's clothing, many viewers weren't impressed Maroon 5's overall performance. "Thankful for being included and for all our fellow sea creatures", and to that, a fan tweeted back, "I'm sorry Travis Scott ruined your moment".
