We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans.

WWE has confirmed Dean Ambrose will leave the company in April.

Ziggler admitted he was surprised to learn of Ambrose's departure, but understands someone wanting to move on and do other things. An unnamed WWE friend told the website that Ambrose "hates hokey s-", which happens to be an undeniable element of the Dean Ambrose persona.

Known as the lunatic fringe, Ambrose had been tipped for greatness when he debuted along with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as The Shield. Many saw him as the breakout star of the group whenever the inevitable split would occur, and although he had a run as the WWE champion from June-September 2016, he never really seemed to catch on as the singles star fans assumed he could be.

With the upcoming launch of All Elite Wrestling spearheaded by Cody and The Young Bucks, there has been a lot of buzz around WWE wrestlers wanting to jump ship, and Ambrose could be one of the first ones to do so.

The Shield member, whose real name in Jonathan Good, has come to terms on his release and will depart WWE after WrestleMania.

Rollins went on to win the Royal Rumble and is expected to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. On this week's episode of Raw, he was attacked by Nia Jax.

This comes in a very interesting climate backstage in WWE.
