Man clings to moving SUV in road rage episode caught on video

For the next two to three miles, Kamrowski dangled on the hood as Fitzgerald accelerated, reportedly hitting 70 mph at one point. Then, in true American style, another driver intervenes with a gun, forcing Fitzgerald out of the vehicle.

Police say that 37-year-old Mark Fitzgerald and 65-year-old Richard Kamrowski got into a minor crash, and that Kamrowski got onto Fitzgerald's SUV.

Fitzgerald drove for a "very significant distance" with Kamrowski clinging to the hood, according to State Police.

"I thought he was going to run over me", Kamrowski told the NBC affiliate.

Both will be arraigned Monday in Waltham District Court. One man forced Fitzgerald out of the auto at gunpoint.

Kamrowski claimed Fitzgerald swerved into his lane and bumped his vehicle.

Kamrowski called 911 while on top of the SUV.

Other motorists also remonstrated with Fitzgerald to try to stop him, with Kamrowski's ordeal finally ending when the Infiniti got caught up in traffic. "Stop the vehicle!" And he wouldn't stop.

He says the driver yelled back at him to get off. "You were speeding with him on the hood of your vehicle", she responds after Fitzgerald explains that he was actually trying to pull over.

Police arrested both men: Fitzgerald was charged with assault with a unsafe weapon, negligent operation and leaving the scene of a crash causing property damage and Kamrowsi faces disorderly conduct charges.

"[Fitzgerald] kept going fast, slow; fast, slow, trying to get me to slide off". The Infiniti driver charged with assault with a unsafe weapon on a person over 60, negligent operation of a auto, as well as leaving the scene of an accident. Kamrowski, of Framingham, was charged with disorderly conduct.

The man with the gun who held Fitzgerald for police was forced to the ground when troopers arrived but he is not facing any charges.
