Josh McDaniels Will Remain With Patriots In 2019

McDaniels has told teams that he is no longer available for interviews and that he plans to remain in New England for the 2019 season.

Speaking on a conference call Tuesday morning, the Patriots coordinator confirmed he will be back with the team next season.

McDaniels reportedly was interested in becoming the Cleveland Browns' next head coach, but he said Tuesday he's had no contact with that organization.

McDaniels was unsure if his decision to pull out of the Colts job affected his job prospects nearly a year later.

The Colts ultimately went with former Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator Frank Reich, who has led Indianapolis to the divisional playoffs.

McDaniels said he is enjoying his role with New England, and hopes he's growing and will continue to grow in his current role.

McDaniels was convinced to stay by Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft, though reportedly no assurances were given that McDaniels would succeed Belichick when he retired.
