Ahead of the much-anticipated final season of Game of Thrones, fans have been treated to new footage. The clip, which debuted on Sunday as part of HBO's 2019 drama trailer, showed Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) welcoming Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) to Winterfell, while clearly being unhappy with her presence.
Game of Thrones' final season is set to being in April of 2019 on HBO.
The series is HBO's biggest hit ever with some 30 million viewers in the USA alone and an army of devoted fans worldwide.
They may have come away from the Golden Globes empty handed but HBO still made an impact during the live telecast in Los Angeles on Monday. We see Sansa tell Daenerys, "Winterfell is yours, your grace". Here's your first look at #GameOfThrones, #Watchmen, #Euphoria, #BigLittleLies, and more.
Daenerys also comes off cold, maybe internally taken aback by Sansa's decision to yield her home to her. Of course, the finer details of season 8 likely won't be revealed for a while yet, but HBO has released a teasing promo tonight to keep us ticking over in the meantime.
This is the second footage after the hugging scene between Jon Snow and his sister that was released in August 2018.
There's also huge potential that this meeting is the first interaction of what will become a power-couple in the show's final season. Meryl Streep, who plays his mother in the new season, says she wants to find out what happened to her son.
A former HBO teaser also showed Sansa embracing Jon, while glancing skeptically over his shoulder.
