Super Smash Bros Ultimate Patch 1.2.0 Introduces Matchmaking Tweaks, Balance Changes

It seems anyone that purchased Pokemon Let's Go Eevee or Let's Go Pikachu received a spirit version of that Pokemon for use in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has gotten bumped up to Version 1.2.0.

Patch 1.2.0 recently went live and according to the patch notes, they aim to further stabilize some of the frustrations with the game's online.

It had already been announced by Nintendo yesterday that Super Smash Bros.


When matching in Quickplay, the Format setting of your Preferred Rules will be more highly prioritized.

General balance adjustments are also included for multiple characters. Hopefully, this change will fix numerous problems.


Adjusted difficulty of approaching challengers. Smash Ultimate is sure to grow and change over the coming years based on character additions and such, so some greater transparency (especially for more competitive players) would be appreciated.
