Superstar Rajinikanth’s `Petta` teaser filled with Thalaivarism

Produced by Sun Pictures, Petta is getting ready to hit the screens worldwide during Pongal.

The teaser has shown that the film will have some majestic frames in it. Rajinikanth turned 68 on Wednesday. The teaser engages us with its background score and visuals of the Superstar's slow-motion walk which hint at Petta being an out-and-out Rajinikanth film.

The teaser of Petta is nothing but birthday wishes for the Superstar from the team. The teaser also confirms that Rajinikanth plays a college professor in the film with the bearded look, as he is seen entering the freshers party hall celebrating with the young students.

Watch the teaser of Petta here. Directed by "Pizza" director Karthik Subbaraj, the film is scheduled for release in January 2019. At the audio launch of Petta, Rajinikanth said, "Karthik has a very different style of storytelling". Looks like the Rajnikanth with a handlebar moustache will be the action filled part of the film, in which he seems to be a Bruce Lee fan. Karthik Subbaraj is the director and Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Bobby Simha, Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Megha Akash will be seen in other pivotal roles. 'Petta' is an entertaining throwback to the kind of films I did in the 1990s.
