Former Cowboy Dez Bryant signing deal with Saints

Former Cowboy Dez Bryant signing deal with Saints

The New Orleans Saints are without question one of the top teams in the National Football League this season and are fresh off of a huge victory over the Los Angeles Rams. A person familiar with the decision confirmed the move today, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the roster move has not been announced.

Former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler Dez Bryant is a free agent no more. A rising star in the league, Thomas has recorded 70 catches for 880 yards and five touchdowns in only eight games so far this season. He signed his last contract right after that but has not approached that level of production since - a central reason Dallas released him in April.

Bryant worked out for the Saints along with Brandon Marshall and Kamara Aiken earlier in the week but left New Orleans without a contract.

Not long after his release from Dallas, Bryant turned down a three-year contract offer from the Baltimore Ravens, according to several media outlets.

The Saints, sitting at 7-1 atop the NFC South, will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 10.

For Bryant, the move means joining an elite quarterback in Drew Brees on a team with championship aspirations. Richard Sherman certainly seems to like the signing for New Orleans.

Meredith, 26, had been healthy for most of this season.

As for Bryant, one thing he might want to do before his return to Dallas on November 29 is purchase a few extra jerseys, because apparently, a bunch of his old teammates are hoping to trade with him after the game.

The Saints understand that they are going to need any and every edge they can get throughout the rest of the season, and Dez Bryant pushes that red zone percentage even higher in all likelihood.

He'll get the opportunity to play against his former team later this month, as the Saints are scheduled to visit the Cowboys in Week 13.

New Orleans also has two games remaining against division rival Carolina (6-2). I think at the start of the season, we weren't in that position, and then all of a sudden a couple of guys get nicked up and there becomes a place for him.
