Brewers Turn to Zack Davies to Replace Gio Gonzalez

James Franco and Owen Wilson were among the Hollywood stars on hand to cheer on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday. He said he was "really frustrated" following a 4-0 loss to the Brewers on Monday night. If the Brewers make it to the World Series, Gonzalez will not be available no matter how he is health, wise.

Freddy Peralta made his first appearance this postseason after Gonzalez left Tuesday night's game, and pitched three shutout innings with six strikeouts and three walks. In other words, it was another bullpen game.

The series continues on Friday in Milwaukee; if the Dodgers prevail, they will be headed to their second consecutive World Series. "Not just because of the fans, but because of how we were playing the game".

Davies was not initially on the Brewers' postseason roster after compiling a 4.77 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 2-7 record during the regular season.

He also promised to deliver a better effort in Game 4 on Tuesday night. Under MLB postseason rules, a team may replace an injured player only with league approval. Over the course of the season, Davies suffered a rotator cuff injury and struggled with a back issue. "It's unfortunate that the reason you replace someone on the roster is because of an injury, but at the same time, everybody wants to be ready".

That means if the Brewers make it to the World Series, Gonzalez can not be on the roster since a player replaced due to injury in one series is required to sit out the next one. L.A. now leads the series 3-2.
