Whilst a striker did not arrive despite concerns about Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud's ability to lead the front-line, Sarri has seen it fit to allow Belgium global Michy Batshuayi to join La Liga side Valencia on a season-long loan.

The west London outfit made this known on their official website on Friday.

NAIJ.com previously reported that Michy Batshuayi looked set to join Spanish League side Sevilla before the close of summer transfer window.

Zouma joined Chelsea back in 2014 under Jose Mourinho and despite showing early promise, his first team appearances were made limited soon after Antonio Conte joined the wagon.

The Belgium global made 19 of his 20 league appearances in 2016-17 from the bench and scored five goals, including the strike that secured Chelsea the Premier League title at West Brom.

The defender only managed just 13 appearances in their title-winning 2016-17 season before being sent out on loan to Stoke City on loan last season.

The Belgium global impressed while at Borussia Dortmund in the second half of the last campaign, scoring seven times in 10 Bundesliga appearances before suffering an ankle injury in April.

He scored nine goals in 14 games across all competitions before injury ended his season.
