Most previous God of War games had some form of New Game+, but the new PS4 game has lacked the feature.
The God of War New Game Plus option has been dated, and with it comes news about what people can expect after being the game and starting the journey over again.
God Of War: first details and release date for the New Game Plus mode
More specifically, the update holding New Game Plus will launch on August 20. In order to play through the mode, you'll need to have completed the game on any difficulty - which is a requirement that should seem obvious. Luckily Kratos and Atreus get to kit themselves out with "powerful new armor sets and enchantments", so that should level the playing field a little. Instead, it'll increase the difficulty by forcing encounters with enemies of higher levels and will give players new gear to look for.
Kaufman also promises that as well as being harder to take down, some of the bigger enemies will also have some new tricks up their blood-stained sleeves. Plus, you can make the father and son stronger better by gathering the Skap Slag resource to make and upgrade equipment.
Developer Sony Santa Monica confirmed on the PlayStation Blog that the free update will bring the previously promised New Game Plus mode. While that might be enough for some folks, others might be tempted back with New Game Plus mode, which allows you to start over from the beginning with all of your equipment and upgrades.
The update is the biggest one God of War has ever received, the developers said, and it's will be released on August 20.
