Emery wants Arsenal to play on the front foot

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has ruled out the possibility of Danny Welbeck leaving the club following the end of the English transfer window.

The American businessman has agreed a deal to buy Alisher Usmanov's 30 per cent stake in the Gunners for more than £550m.

Emery could not have been handed a more hard start to life at Arsenal with a trip to Chelsea following on from the visit of Manchester City.

"For that this news for me is positive and his commitment to Arsenal is the most important".

With funds few and far between this summer, it might take an exit to free up some capital for Emery to play with today.

Manchester City should win this match.

At the Emirates, Arsenal have enjoyed just one win in their last six league clashes with Man City (D3 L2), courtesy of a 2-1 win in December 2015. It's for that, my message for Sunday and for the season is optimism.

"On Sunday I want first to be together with our supporters. With the same players and also our new players with us, and with a new culture and new staff".

"So we have been working all week to prepare for this game".

"We are excited", he said.

"Above all, it's about confidence in ourselves to play the best match on Sunday".

The Colombian global will also likely leave the club as Unai Emery says because he has played as a back up for Petr Cech for the last three years and the gunners signing Bernd Leno clearly showed that the gunners don't have trust in him anymore.

"We only have three players - Carl Jenkinson, David Ospina and Joel Campbell, with the possibility to leave", Emery said.

Unai Emery confirmed that aside from those three, all other players will be staying at the Emirates Stadium.

Emery praised City boss Guardiola, whom he faced at Barcelona while coaching Almeria and Valenca, saying: "His career as a player is bigger than mine and his career as a coach is also bigger than mine".
