As per the India Standard Time (IST), Xiaomi Mi A2 is scheduled to be launched by 4pm today and you can catch all the action live with the Facebook live streaming of the product launch. The company also said at the India launch event that the smartphone's 128GB storage and 6GB RAM option will be released in the country at a later date.
Processor: The Mi A2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. However, looking at the worldwide pricing of the phone which was announced to be Euro 279 (about Rs 22,500) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Euro 349 (about Rs 28,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, it can be said that the phone will sell around the same price point only.
For selfies, the device features a single 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 2.0μm pixels size, and soft LED flash. This handset is marking the entry of the second Xiaomi phone, which is a part of Android One initiative being carried out in India. Up front, it gets a 20MP selfie camera that comes with AI portrait mode. The 8 GB version is expected to cost anywhere between CNY2,699 and CNY3,299 - the current price tags of the cheapest and most expensive Mi 8 on the market. There is also a "Smart Lens Selection" feature, that chooses the appropriate rear sensor based on the lighting conditions. Initially, the company will only sell the 4GB RAM variant in India and the 6GB RAM variant will be available soon. The smartphone also offers electronic image stabilisation (EIS) for video recording.
- The Mi A2 does not have a headphone jack and it does not support expandable storage. The phone is only 7.3mm thick and weighs around 166g.
