Osinbajo has " directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura".

Matthew Seiyefa, a director of the Department of State Services (DSS) from Bayelsa state, has been appointed as acting director-general of the service.

The statement came shortly after Daura left the office of the Vice President.


Osinbajo had earlier directed that the sacked Daura should handover to the most senior DSS personnel.

Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has exonerated the Nigeria Police Force from Tuesday's blockage of the National Assembly (NASS) by security operatives. "When I have a detailed picture, we'll make a release about it".

It was gathered that the two security chiefs, who arrived Aso Rock at different times, were to update the acting president on security developments including the blockade of the National Assembly by security officials.


Acting leader Yemi Osinbajo sacks head of the state security agency Lawal Musa Daura hours after masked security agents barred lawmakers from entering the parliament in capital Abuja.

Osinbajo condemned the unauthorized takeover of the National Assembly complex, describing it as "a gross violation of constitutional order, rule of law and all acceptable notions of law and order".
