England advanced to the semifinal with a 2-0 victory over Sweden on Saturday while Croatia overcame Russian Federation in a penalty shootout.

Henderson has been instrumental in helping England reach their first World Cup semi-final since 1990.

"It's a special feeling to know that people back home and out here in Russian Federation are enjoying the experience just as much as we are", the midfielder said on the eve of the game. 'All the celebrations and the songs they're singing back home, it inspires us as players to be able to sort of bring the nation together and put smiles on people's faces.

The Liverpool manager has now seemingly turned his attention to the Three Lions because he's been sending Jordan Henderson plenty of texts as England progress through the tournament. The support we've had has been unbelievable and we just wanted to make everybody so proud.

Now, Liverpool FC midfielder Henderson has admitted that he has been regularly hearing from his club manager during England's World Cup run. "That's why it hurts so much that we couldn't get over the line", Henderson is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

After that, he will have three weeks' break before returning to Merseyside for pre-season training with Liverpool - whose season gets underway against West Ham at Anfield on August 12.

Pickford only made his full England debut in November 2017, just seven months before the World Cup in Russian Federation, but he made crucial saves in the team's round-of-16 penalty shoot-out victory over Colombia.

Henderson really started coming into his own in the second half of the season for Liverpool and helped them get into the final of the Champions League, after his performances in Russian Federation he's really cementing himself as a top central midfielder. To play in a World Cup is so special.
