Officials have made a second arrest in the murder of South Florida rapper XXXTentacion.

The 20-year-old rapper, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot on 18 June in Florida and died in hospital.

Investigators say Boatwright was initially arrested last week on an unrelated drug charge. The suspect was first arrested on drug-related charges on July 5 and served with an arrest warrant on Tuesday for first-degree murder while being held at Broward Sheriff's Office Main Jail, the sheriff's office said.

The newspaper reports that police suspect Boatwright is one of the gunmen who actually pulled the trigger and shot XXXTentacion.

Another suspect Dedrick Williams, 22, was charged last month with first-degree murder and is now in police custody. "[Detectives] want to find out what he knows about the murder", Broward Sheriff's Office wrote via its Facebook page when it announced Allen was a person of interest. At least one fired and they then fled in a vehicle.

The other suspect is Dedrick Devonshay Williams. Williams has been charged with first-degree murder without premeditation.

Court documents indicate the 20-year-old rapper was accosted by two masked men. "Allen is also wanted in Broward County on a felony warrant for violation of probation for possession of PVP (flakka) and carrying a concealed firearm, authorities said", according to ABC Local 10. They have not said how he is connected to Onfroy's murder.

Detectives are actively searching for a third suspect, the Herald reported.
