The Florida native clutched the scissors with his feet and knifed 22-year-old Cesar Coronado twice before running away, according to the arrest report.

Jonathan Crenshaw, 46, is known locally for the detailed works of art he creates using his feet, the same extremities police say he used to jam a pair of scissors into 22-year-old Cesar Coronado.

Crenshaw has an extensive criminal past, including battery of law enforcement officers, according to local police.

Police arrested a Florida man with no arms after he allegedly stabbed a tourist in Miami Beach Tuesday tonight.

Crenshaw has been charged with aggravated battery. Crenshaw told police that he was defending himself when he was apprehended.

Coronado was found bleeding from his left arm; Crenshaw was arrested the following day and he told an officer that the stabbing happened in self-defence, the Herald reported. He said he then pulled out a pair of scissors with his feet and stabbed the victim before putting the scissors in his waistband and leaving the area, authorities said. He and a female friend who was present said Mr Coronado asked Mr Crenshaw for directions and was attacked, police said.

Police said there were no indications that Crenshaw was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. His court date is scheduled for July 18.
