Beyond the map changes, the most intriguing addition in Fortnite season 5 might be that of the All Terrain Kart (ATK).

New rewards, new weekly challenges, new reasons to play. There are also two brand new locations to explore: Paradise Palms and Lazy Links.

As for the map itself, Epic has added in a new desert biome which was something that was heavily hinted it over the last couple of days with all sorts of teasers.

There's also a new vehicle, the All Terrain Kart (the ATK) which will accommodate your whole squad.

It sounds like there will be a ton of new stuff to discover on the map, and the new All Terrain Kart will be ideal for exploration with your squad. The vehicle can fit an entire four person squad inside, drifting grants speed boosts, the roof is a bounce pad, and non-driving passengers can work together to make the vehicle leap by pulling back on the control stick and releasing in unison.

The biggest change pertains to the new Rifts that are scattered all throughout the "Fortnite" battle royale map. "Test your courage and step through a Rift", says Epic. As the storm closes in, the center can shift and shrink to a new location, so you'll have to pay way more attention now. This should provide players with more information on why their point blank hits are only registering small damages.

The patch notes details a lot of tweaks that have been made to the game such as adjusted.shotgun spread patterns, heavy shotguns now firing 10 pellets instead of 5 along with bug fixes.

As exciting as Fortnite's fourth season was, with consumable comet fragments, a Thanos crossover event, and even a surprise rocket launch, the game's fifth season might be even bigger. To rectify this, players can earn XP for reviving their teammates in 50v50 and Teams of 20 matches.

Auto-fire has also been added as an option in the iOS game - you can toggle it on and off in the settings menu.
