George Clooney injured in a auto accident in Italy

Actor George Clooney has reportedly been released from a hospital in Italy after being injured in an accident on the island of Sardinia.

Carabinieri officer Alberto Cicognani was the driver of the Mercedes auto that hit Clooney after failing to stop at a turn, as reported by CNN.

'George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. A police officer said Clooney had the right of way, and the Mercedes had failed to yield. The 57-year-old was hit by a auto while riding his scooter on the island of Sardinia, officials confirmed to NBC News. A auto did not respect the right of way and hit him. "He is recovering at his home and will be fine", a publicist for the actor told Yahoo Entertainment. You can see a second scooter in the surveillance video, which managed to avoid the Mercedes.


The 57-year-old actor was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated for bruising on his leg, arm, and pelvis, TMZ reports.

Clooney is now filming TV drama Catch-22 on the Italian island.

The driver of the other vehicle tended to Clooney until emergency workers arrived, local outlet La Nuova reported. "It turns out he had a scooter accident with only minor injuries", while another added: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!"


Clooney told a friend it's "good to be alive" after the road accident.

Cloonster reportedly underwent an MRI, but did not suffer any serious injuries and has since been discharged.

He has a home on Lake Como on the Italian mainland.
