An ever bigger clash awaits if England reach their first final since winning the World Cup in 1966 because the men's Wimbledon final would likely overlap with the decider in Moscow.

"We have said for a couple of years that the final will be played at 2pm, as it is every year", said All England Tennis Club boss Richard Lewis.

The midfielder, who plays his club football for Eibar in Spain, chipped in with an assist and two goals - one in a group stag draw with Senegal and another in the Blue Samurai's 3-2 defeat to Belgium in the last-16.

The Croatia striker, 32, helped his side reach the World Cup semi-final with a goal and assist against Denmark in the last 16 and Russian Federation in the quarter-final, respectively.

Davor Suker, president of the Croatian Football Federation and a key part of the Croatia team that reached the 1998 semi-finals, played down suggestions the team were too dependent on Modric but insisted the player can easily handle the weight of responsibility.

No England fans were arrested in Norfolk following Saturday's 2-0 quarter-final win over Sweden and police chiefs are hoping for the same result again, despite a place in Sunday's final being up for grabs.

"People followed the football on their devices thanks to modern technology without disturbing other spectators".

"You can tell when England scored and it was wonderful but we didn't receive any complaints that the enjoyment of tennis had been spoiled".

'So we'll just have to assess people as we go. We are very motivated.

"With Brazil now out of the World Cup, Belgium is at the top of our probability table", Goldman's analysts wrote.

"But the way the tournament is going so far, whoever we come up against, we feel confident we're going to win".

Should England make the final on Sunday, it's possible that the men's final may not be even over - especially if Federer and Rafael Nadal involved.

Ten years ago, Nadal triumphed over his great rival in a five-set epic which ended at 9.16pm (2016GMT). Those who work hard and organised are still here in Russian Federation. "We're two great teams and it will be a great challenge for us and for them, so let's see who will be better".

'But of course you get an accumulation of fatigue, through a tournament that's why we took the decision we did against Belgium more than anything.
