For those who haven't been keeping up, the mode drops you and three other players on a loot-filled map and lets you do whatever you want for an hour.
Fortnite players will only be dropping into Playground mode until July 12. And that's about to happen with Fortnite's Playground mode, at least temporarily. There's a reason Playground is referred to as a limited time mode, though.
While Playground Mode is leaving Fortnite on July 12, fans can rest assured that it will be back in the game at some point down the line.
However, the good news is that Epic Games are busy preparing the next version of Fortnite Playground mode. Players have mostly been using the time to tinker with the game's building mechanics, and have already created some pretty insane stuff.
"The Playground LTM represents our first step into what a full creative mode looks like in Fortnite", the developer wrote in its announcement.
With Playground still in the game for about another week, it will be interesting to see what other creations Fortnite fans can come up with. You can spend all that time then safely practicing with the weapons, getting a feel for the map, figuring out Fortnite's tricky construction mechanics, or just goofing off. Playground mode has sparked a creativity in players that recalls Fortnite's Minecraft roots.
Fortnite is out now for iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
