He really kind of stabbed us in the back.

"He did a great disservice to the whole [Group of Seven (G-7)]", he added.

"Trudeau, who stands at 6'2", appears at least an inch taller than Trump in a photo the Prime Minister shared from this weekend's G7 summit.

"If the expectation was that a weekend in lovely Charlevoix....was going to transform the president's outlook on trade and the world, then we didn't quite reach that bar", Trudeau said.

"As Canadians, we are polite, we're reasonable, but also we will not be pushed around", he said.

"The United States has been taken advantage of for decades and decades", Mr Trump said at a press conference on the second day of a two-day summit in Canada.

"In terms of the approach that governments choose to take, Canada does not believe that ad-hominem attacks are a particularly appropriate or useful way to conduct our relations with other countries", Freeland told reporters in Quebec City.

The verbal volleys by Navarro and Mr. Trump's top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, picked up where Mr. Trump left off Saturday evening with a series of tweets from Air Force One en route to Singapore for his nuclear summit Tuesday with North Korea's Kim Jong Un.

"We were very close to making a deal with Canada on NAFTA, bilaterally perhaps, and then we leave and Trudeau pulls this sophomoric, political stunt for domestic consumption".

He said the trade deficits that the USA faces "with virtually every country in the world" is the fault of past leaders.

Trudeau and Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland later tweeted photos of the women's empowerment meeting, showing Trump's empty chair. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

A spokesman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the other G7 members stand by the communique and all that was agreed upon.

Trump said he doesn't blame the current leaders, but he had a sharp warning for them if they don't work with him to correct what he sees as an unfair situation.

Responding to Kudlow's remarks on Sunday-which came just as Trump touched down in Singapore after ducking out of the G7 summit early-Huffington Post reporter Matt Fuller wrote: "It's fantastic that Larry Kudlow thinks he's helping the U.S".

Trump's presidency has been clouded by a federal investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, and possible collusion by his campaign.

Trump followed up by saying the USA would not endorse the G7 communique, a statement on the shared priorities of the Western allies. From his plane, he launched insults at the prime minister, calling him "very dishonest and weak".

Trump was doing Trudeau a favor by coming to Quebec for the G7 when he "had bigger things on his plate" with the North Korean summit. That was a part of Trudeau's mistake.

"No tariffs, no barriers".

He held a press conference in La Malbaie before his departure, addressing a wide range of topics including the trade tensions, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. "How are we supposed to serve as an example to countries that discriminate against women when our own president can't even show up on time?"

"President Trump saw that he had a united front before him", Macron said via Twitter.
