He's coming home. Michael Myers back in new Halloween

The first footage from the sequel debuted earlier this year at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada, with fans hounding Blumhouse Productions to share the footage with the rest of the world. I certainly hope so.

In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter's life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael's inevitable return - to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak). Despite the multiple sequels and those Rob Zombie remakes the trailer confirms that this movie is following straight on from the first Halloween. At the helm of this new Halloween is filmmaker David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Your Highness, Prince Avalanche, Joe, Stronger), who co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride.

John Carpenter's Halloween is a classic horror flick, expertly ratcheting up the tension.

"For a lot of people, out of sight, out of mind", Curtis said when EW visited the set of director David Gordon Green's film earlier this year. There's also plenty of menace and scares-in short everything you'd want from a new Halloween movie. A writer from Vice-Principals, Jeff Fradley, has also joined them for the new film.

Business Insider saw the trailer at this year's CinemaCon, the yearly convention of movie theaters owners, and it was one of the event's highlights.

Carpenter hasn't put his name on a "Halloween" movie since having a producer credit on 1982's "Halloween III: Season of the Witch".

This new film will feature a new, more physical approach to portraying Michael Myers, with stuntman James Jude Courtney taking over a majority of the responsibilities for the character.
