3 takeaways from Game 3 vs. Warriors

Kevin Durant had the best game of his playoff career on Wednesday night in Cleveland, leading the Warriors to a 110-102 win over the Cavs to take a 3-0 series lead. He eventually took six threes, hitting just one, but he was carrying this team. He used to be able to dunk on you, but he hasn't been able to in years and his knees still hurt. LeBron James is averaging 34.5 points and nine assists while Kevin Love is averaging 15 points and 10.3 rebounds.

"That was fantastic what he did out there tonight", said Warriors coach Steve Kerr of Durant. They dominated the offensive glass by a margin of 15-6.

Kevin Durant finally turned off the frustrating game film of Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals at about the same time the sun rose on June 10.

Golden State backed Durant's effort by having five players reach double-digits.

They may not be as bad as they're made out to be but they're certainly not good enough to compete with the Warriors and that has been evident in this series.

Afterward, the defending champs could be heard loudly celebrating inside their locker room, perhaps a warmup for a bigger party to come.

The Warriors have a 3-0 lead for the second straight year.

But when the Warriors' system fails, Durant is the lifeboat - one they didn't have in 2015 and 2016, when the offense revolved around Curry.

Asked who he was staring at, Durant said: "I don't remember". "It was nearly like I was cussing him out, but I was so happy. That's the only thing I felt like would've been different from past year". But that was a huge shot.

"I don't know why people keep wanting to pick battles this way. Like it was just high emotion".

Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, Nick Young, Patrick McCaw, Kevin Looney, Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee are the Warriors' other pending free agents. That's rare in the National Basketball Association because we're all professionals. "Two guys that I think are a head above everybody else that's ever played the game".

But Durant virtually settled the outcome with the cold-blooded triple. Since joining the Warriors, he had connected on only two 3s from 30-plus feet and had never done it a couple of times in game throughout his career.

Quotable - LeBron James, whether the Warriors seem vulnerable in the series ...

Kendrick Perkins hasn't played one second of the NBA Finals for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he wants the Golden State Warriors - and especially Stephen Curry - to "pick another battle" after a Game 2 incident.

"It's a tie between MJ and Kob", Durant said. I discovered something different. "I was locked in every game like I was playing". I'm not sure what time I'll end up getting to bed. The Golden State Warriors can beat the Cavs playing their C game and only need one of their four stars to play well.

And his presence continues to be the difference-maker. All right. There it is. But some people here at For The Win believe the fan definitely said "cheese butt".
