Last week, we got the exciting news that modern comics heroine Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel will likely be joining the MCU in Phase Four.

In case you're unfamiliar, the other two stars named are Mindy Kaling, creator and star of The Mindy Project and co-star of A Wrinkle In Time, and Kumail Nanjiani, Oscar-nominated co-writer of The Big Sick and co-star of HBO's Silicon Valley.

Earlier Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige had dropped the hint that there will more to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after the fourth Avengers film hits the cinema.

Ms. Marvel, created by Sana Amanat, is the first Muslim character who made her appearance in Captain Marvel #14.

"Sure she voiced the character in a game but we need a Pakistani actress around the same age as Tom Holland".

Khan is a teenage Pakistani-American from New Jersey who possesses the powers of shape shifting and healing factor.

It won't be the studio's first female-led film - Brie Larson is already set to enter the franchise as Captain Marvel in 2019.

Feige also mentioned that the studio is now filming Captain Marvel with Brie Larson in the lead.

"Ms. definitely sort of in the works", Feige had said.

Khan begins to go by Miss Marvel after Carol Danvers her hero, dons the title of Captain Marvel.
