Details have been announced for the pre-launch Mario Tennis Aces tournament. Currently, there are 15 confirmed characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Boo, Toad, Toadette, Rosalina and Chain Chomp. In Swing Mode, players can use their Joy-Con controllers like a tennis racket, swinging them to initiate the tennis swings in the game. However, five additional characters will be unlockable with points accumulated through participation in the tournament and online stages.
In addition to this, the game is also bringing back a story mode, something fans have been pining for since the days of Mario Tennis: Power Tour.
We're not sure of the exact format of the "tournament" right now, but online play will be available, along with rankings for those participating.
However, with the upcoming arrival of Mario Tennis Aces, it looks like Nintendo is going to right the ship. Players will be able to compete against other people online.
Nintendo says that all players of the "Mario Tennis Aces" demo will be able to unlock Mario's traditional dungarees outfit by playing the game and that the outfit will be usable in the full game.
The Mario Tennis series is about to faithfully revived in Mario Tennis Aces. The game will exclusively be available for the Nintendo Switch.
You can try Smash, and its partners Serve and Volley. To participate, players just have to download the Pre-launch Online Tournament in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch.
