Tottenham Hotspur's English right back Kyle Walker-Peters signed a one-season contract extension with the Spurs till 2021, the Premier League club announced on Monday.

Chelsea are considering moving for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino if Antonio Conte leaves the club this summer, according to Sky Sports. "In this type of situation being courageous is important and you need to take risks".

Pochettino has led Spurs to their most consistent run since Bill Nicholson was manager, albeit. But, on the pitch, they have continued to compete against the big-spending Manchester clubs as well as Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

"We can not think we are the most clever people in the world and we are going to win trophies and spend small money".

The duo are set for crunch talks this week to discuss the transfer budget and club's wage structure, which Poch also hopes to raise.

Alderweireld's contractual situation is well documented, with the 29-year-old seeking a substantial pay rise that would reflect his status as arguably the best central defender in the Premier League.

"That is a little bit up to Daniel of course, to the club, to be happy with us, because after four years I think we need to assess that period". We need to work harder than the previous season to be competitive again.

"I don't know if the club will agree with me or not, but we are going to talk in the week to create the new project or what I think we need to do together again to try to improve". We need to think our reality is different and our fans need to think and be happy and support us because we are not a club who will spend insane money.

"You can not create dreams thinking you are not going to achieve these dreams".

Otherwise Pochettino indicated that his rivals would catch up and his future could be in doubt. "I think I have a very clear idea of what we need to do", he told reporters in his news conference after the game.

"You've never heard him say that before". Today a guy like Kane, I don't know for much they can sell him, £100m?
