India smartphone shipment grows 11% in Q1 to 30 mn units: IDC

Acknowledging the success so far, Manu Jain, the global vice president of Xiaomi and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, said that the company will continue providing high-quality innovative technology to its users.

Xiaomi has emerged as the leading smartphone vendor in India in terms of shipments for two consecutive quarters now, according to International Data Corporation's (IDC) latest tracker, published 14 May, for Q1 2018.

Xiaomi has emerged as India's leading smartphone brand for the third successive quarter. Interestingly, the list also includes a few handsets, such as Mi Mix 2s and Redmi S2 - which have already been launched in other markets.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will be launched in India on 7 June. The smartphone flaunts a 5.99-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor bundled with Adreno 506 GPU. To recall, the Y1 was launched in India last November and boasted selfie-centric features at an affordable price - the same ammo as the S2. With the launch of the new division, the company is looking planning to enhance the camera experience.

During the study, staff publications found that the people of Russian Federation prefer to buy mobile phones three companies - Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi. The certification revealed a list of devices that were launched already like the dual-lensed Redmi S2 under the Redmi S series and that are yet to arrive like the Redmi Note 6 and its new lineup. It comes in Rose gold, Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver colors.
