Gas prices across Florida rose nearly 10 cents in the past week, according to a new report from AAA. Average gasoline prices rose in all 50 states last week after oil prices reached $71 per barrel, the highest since 2014, following news of President Trump's Iran withdrawal.

"Gas prices are their highest in years, yet that doesn't seem to be slowing motorists down", said Mark Jenkins, a spokesman for AAA and the Auto Club Group. On a global level, economic sanctions against Iran are prohibiting it from exporting as much oil to the USA, which is driving up prices.

Huntsville- $2.57, up 0.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.56. Levels of all three were lower than a year ago led by oil inventories down almost 89 million barrels in the last year.

"However, it may be weeks before motorists see the full effects of the US pulling out of the Iran Nuclear Agreement and reimposing sanctions", said Tammy Arnette, senior public affairs specialist for AAA Mid-Atlantic.

"The highest gas prices since 2014 won't keep travelers home this Memorial Day weekend", Albert said.

The autoclub says that the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.93 per gallon. Prices in Vermont have gone up 4.6 cents per gallon to an average of $2.85.

AAA also found the following average prices for other grades of gasoline or types of fuel: $3.129 for midgrade; $3.399 for premium and $3.139 for diesel.
