The University of Alabama softball team extended its streak of hosting a regional to 14 years when the selection committee tabbed the Crimson Tide as the No. 12 seed for the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Florida, the SEC regular season and tourney champion, will play Bethune-Cookman at 7:30 p.m. Friday after Ohio State opens against South Florida at 5 p.m.in the double-elimination tournament.

Florida has hosted an NCAA Regional every year under the direction of head coach Tim Walton.

Alabama will contend with Oregon State, Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee State.

Auburn defeated Kennesaw State 2-1 on April 4 on the Plains, rallying from behind thanks to an RBI single by KK Crocker and solo home run by Alyssa Rivera, and is 2-0 all-time against KSU.

The Wolverines open play at noon Friday against Notre Dame in the Lexington, Kentucky Regional, hosted by the 16 overall seed Wildcats. If the Sun Devils win their region, they would host a super regional.

OR is the top overall seed in the tournament.
