White House condemns Iran rocket attacks against Israel

The Israeli military said Thursday it attacked dozens of Iranian targets in neighboring Syria in response to an Iranian rocket barrage on Israeli positions in the Golan Heights, in the most serious military confrontation between the two bitter enemies to date. No one on the Israeli side was reported to have been injured.

Conricus said Israel forewarned Russian Federation of its strikes on Thursday, which Syrian state media first reported hit Baath City in Quneitra, near the border.

The battle comes one day after the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Israeli airstrikes killed at least 15 people, including eight Iranians.

Avigdor Lieberman says: "Assad, get rid of the Iranians. they are not helping you. their presence will only cause problems and damages".

Israel has repeatedly warned in recent months that it will not accept a permanent Iranian military presence in neighboring Syria. "We do not know yet the (Iranian) casualty count", he said.

Russia's foreign ministry said late Tuesday it was "deeply disappointed" by Trump's announcement that the United States would pull out of the Iran deal, while Netanyahu strongly supported the U.S. president's "bold" move.

Israel said 20 rockets, either Fajr or Grad type, were fired from Syria at its forces in the occupied Golan Heights at around midnight.

On Friday morning, the IDF Spokesperson's Office issued aerial photographs of several Iranian facilities that were attacked by the Israeli Air Force during Operation House of Cards early Thursday morning.

There was no immediate comment from Iran.

Many Israeli leaders, including Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, have welcomed the USA move, terming it as an important and significant step in ensuring the security of the entire free world. Within Iran, it could empower hardliners while weakening the moderate camp that has sought better relations with the West.

The United States on Thursday condemned Iran's "provocative rocket attacks" from Syria and supported Israel's right to defend itself.

"I want to express a hope that we will manage not just to discuss but also to seek a solution that would lead to a shift in the situation". Those rockets either missed their targets or were intercepted by its Iron Dome air defense system, the spokesman said. Syrian TV earlier reported large explosions in the area.

We hit almost all the Iranian infrastructure in Syria.

It called on the other parties to the agreement - especially Britain, France and Germany - to safeguard the accord, adding that no provisions or timeframes in the 2015 agreement "are negotiable in any manner". "The escalations of the past few hours show us that it is truly about war and peace". Iran blames Israel for those strikes, while Israel has not confirmed or denied the attacks.

It is a major ally of Syria and has deployed hundreds of troops to the country.
